"100 kuttavalikal rakshapettalam oru niraparadhipoolum shikshikyapedarudu" Not allowing a person to contest in an election just because he is in police custody is as good as Convicting him/her without a trial, judicial process. As you rightly mentioned a powerful ruling party can easily use this order to eliminate a prospective leader from opposition. If law says you can contest election till all avenues to seek justice is exhausted, then that should be the interpretation and by that logic the verdict too. The HC has jumped the gun however much the verdict might find acceptance among the populace. Hope the court leaves playing to the gallery to the politicos, film stars and sportsmen and sticks to interpreting the law..Anand Natarajanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03869700513914602630noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4908993162747549850.post-19862012680489145882013-07-14T16:12:19.642+05:302013-07-14T16:12:19.642+05:30The first option is fine as long as there is a cho...The first option is fine as long as there is a choice :) which we voters seldom get!

Maybe if they fear the law they will not get into such traps?
